Job Responsibilities
Description:Modification, maintenance, checkout, adjustment, and the assistance
in the development and operation of vehicle and AGE (Aerospace Ground Equipment) mechanical
and electro-mechanical systems, subsystems and components including structural, hydraulic,
propellant, pneumatic and environmental control systems and equipment. Determine from instructions and other data the method and sequence of operations to be performed.
Assist Engineering and/or Technicians in the development of structural, hydraulic, propellant,
pneumatic and environmental control systems including fabricating, assembly and troubleshooting
of vehicle and AGE mechanical, electro-mechanical, and fluid systems.
Assist Engineering and/or Technicians in the operation of such systems during systems test and
launches; modify, maintain, checkout, and adjust such systems as required, working from any type
of authorized engineering information.
Perform post launch repair and assist in flushing operations on pad facilities.
Work with, or assist by following engineering or technician instruction, mechanics in other fields of
specialization as required by performing work up to the level of difficulty described herein. Perform
minor maintenance and upkeep for the prevention of corrosion on surfaces while performing
authorized modification, repair or installation of replacement parts.
Basic Qualifications:
• Possess a working knowledge of basic mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and possess a knowledge of basic shop theory and practices, including safety regulations, necessary to prepare vehicle and AGE mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and equipment for test launch
purposes.
• Normally requires two years of technical training beyond high school plus one year of related mechanical experience.
• Work from design information and fill in missing information from knowledge of basic shop theory and practices.
• Operate basic shop equipment used for forming and bending metal and assist in the operation of optical and other precision measuring devices.
• May be required to maintain certification in propellant protective equipment, (i.e. SCAPE).
• Ability to use tools and equipment to perform work described herein.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to use computer systems.
Desired Skills:
• Previous aerospace experience.
• Ability to work at various heights on gantries, service towers, high lifts, etc; to work in confined areas.
• Possess a knowledge of working characteristics of materials used in vehicle manufacture and propulsion.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
The base range for this position in California is $26.12 - $44.79.
