The Work

This position is for a First Line Manager for IRAD projects developing core simulation and training capabilities in partnership with commercial gaming engines. Responsibilities include coordinating recruitment, developing training plans, working with employees to develop career plans and employee performance monitoring and reviews.
As an Integrated Engineering Manager, you will be expected to facilitate the deployment and use of best practices, tools, and processes on our programs and work with the cross-functional stakeholders to ensure projects are staffed properly and the organization’s staff is meeting all business commitments.

The selected individual will also be responsible for guiding the team through a cultural transformation from classical engineering groups to an Integrated Engineering team with a specific focus on maintaining Systems Engineering methodologies among IRAD and other non-traditional teams. The desired candidate will champion systems engineering rigor and product development process compliance throughout the product lifecycle. They should bring innovative ideas that influence the broader Engineering tenets while aligning activities for efficient and successful systems engineering methodology using Agile and Model Based engineering techniques.

You are an accomplished Leader and Systems Engineer with emphasis on requirements definition and baseline configuration management. The ideal candidate will help continue to build a strong culture with dynamic energy and focus on working across engineering disciplines to assure the highest quality product possible. The ability to rapidly collect and apply lessons learned while growing talent within the team is paramount to success for this role and overall program goals.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related engineering discipline, with 9 years or more of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree
• Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives
• Knowledgeable in Systems Engineering Processes and Tools
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience planning and coordinating systems/software/hardware development in a team-oriented environment
• Proficiency applying System Modeling Languages and frameworks (SysML, UML, DODAF, UPDM, or similar language), and experience developing key artifacts and stakeholder review
• Experience applying the Vee Process Model to fully develop and integrate a complex system
Desired Skills:
• Thorough understanding of program, functional, and process metrics including Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Experience with Cost Account Management (CAM)
• Prior experience in the development, integration, and deployment of training systems
• Leveraged Agile tenets in the execution of the development of software intensive systems, inclusive of driving development of Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware, and Test Engineering work products including usage of Atlassian tool suite
• Prior customer engagement experiences requiring communication of technical concepts to external stakeholders
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
