Job Responsibilities

Job ID: 728496BR Date posted: May. 26, 2026
Description:

You will be the Staff Sustainment Engineer for the Missiles & Fire Control – Lower Tier Integrated Air and Missile Defense (LT IAMD) team. Our team drives logistics and sustainment engineering for the PAC 3 family, ensuring every missile, launcher and component is designed for maintainability, testability and low life cycle cost.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Staff Sustainment Engineer you will be the bridge between design and sustainment, shaping products so they are easier, cheaper and faster to support in the field. You’ll work hand in hand with design engineers, program managers and functional organizations to embed “design for sustainment” concepts from concept through production.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate PAC 3 Evolutionary Development and Sustainment support, monitoring solution effectiveness.
• Provide detailed planning, task visibility and synchronization across development, sustainment and functional groups.
• Create strategies that boost productivity, efficiency, supportability and reliability (CONOPS).
• Translate requirements into design guidelines that reduce labor intensity and life cycle cost.
• Develop predictions, testing and modeling to verify maintainability performance.
• Analyze missile, launcher and component designs; issue maintenance specifications using maintainability engineering expertise.
• Define repair concepts and author maintenance tasks for field and depot repairable items.
• Document design and maintenance actions in SLICwave; apply MIL STD 1388 2B, GEIA STD 0007 and S Series logistics standards.
• Perform logistics analyses and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) per MIL HDBK 1390; conduct life cycle cost modeling.
• Review engineering specs and drawings, proposing refinements that improve the operational to maintenance time ratio.
• Conduct spares modeling analyses for proposals, establishing ground rules and assumptions.
• Develop proposals, Basis of Estimate (BOE), Statements of Work (SOW) and deliverables; interpret contractual terms.
• Drive modernization and standardization of sustainment operations processes and products.
• Present findings at IPT, design review and program review meetings; support Concept Screening Board, Configuration Control Board and Functional Configuration Audits.
• Provide sustainment support for PAC 3 production, evolutionary development and ongoing sustainment.
