Description:
You will be a Fabrication Engineer in Lockheed Martin’s Test Engineering department, turning engineering drawings into reliable electronic and electro mechanical assemblies that support the development and manufacture of tactical hardware. Our fast paced shop blends hands on fabrication with modern, computer driven workflow tools, and you’ll work side by side with engineers, draftsmen, procurement, and quality personnel to deliver high quality products on schedule.
What You Will Be Doing
As a key contributor, you will fabricate and assemble circuit cards, sub assemblies, and wiring harnesses while ensuring every build meets MIL STD specifications and program requirements. You’ll keep the shop running smoothly by updating job status systems, documenting quality inspections, and processing engineering change notices.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Place and solder components on circuit cards and sub assemblies using blueprints, schematics, and engineering guides.
• Fabricate wiring harnesses, performing connector pinning, de pinning, and installing mounting hardware.
• Assemble lower level units into single or multi bay cabinet assemblies for delivery to engineering or production lines.
• Maintain MIL STD certification for solder and harness work, applying the required procedures on every build.
• Communicate issues clearly—both verbally and in writing—to supervisors and design engineers to resolve design or process problems quickly.
• Utilize software tools (CAD, ERP, job tracking applications) and Microsoft Office suite to record work, track parts, and generate status reports.
• Perform quality inspections and log results in the department’s electronic system, ensuring compliance with all specifications.
• Work independently as a self starter while also collaborating with the broader fabrication team to meet daily production goals.
• Support continuous improvement by suggesting process enhancements and sharing best practices with teammates.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience may be in other fabrication environments including cable and harness, SMT board fabrication, or maintenance of military design product.
- Must have Prior Certification in solder and harness capability to MIL STD requirements.
- Experience fabricating electrical equipment designed from a blueprint, schematic, and engineering guides.
- Experience with utilizing software tools and Microsoft products
Desired Skills:
- Self-starter able to perform tasks with minimal supervision
- Experience communicating issues (both verbal and written) with the design and/or the process requirements to management and or engineers.
- Solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721
- Experience in procurement and acquisition of test materials
- Experience interpreting and building to Lockheed Martin Test Equipment engineering

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
