You will be the Vehicle Systems Integration & Airworthiness Manager for the Integration & Airworthiness team within the Vehicle Systems directorate which is responsible for ensuring air‑vehicle design integration and airworthiness certification across Aeronautics programs.



What You Will Be Doing


As the Vehicle Systems Integration & Airworthiness Manager you will be responsible for leading a functional engineering group that delivers safety‑critical integration and certification support from concept through sustainment.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Develop and institute functional standards and best practices for Integration & Airworthiness across the enterprise.

  • Plan, staff, and grow the technical workforce, including competency forecasting, training, and knowledge‑continuity initiatives.

  • Lead the creation of a Digital Thread linking requirements, fabrication, and verification using MBSE tool suites.

  • Manage the team’s indirect and direct budget while applying Earned Value Management fundamentals.

  • Coordinate with the Chief Engineer’s Office and Engineering & Technology leadership to resolve issues and align strategic direction.

Further Information About This Opportunity


MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Interim Secret clearance to start.


This position is in Fort Worth, TX  Discover Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, equivalent discipline considered)
• Experience managing budget, schedule, and technical scope and associated EVM techniques
• Experience developing processes, plans, and schedules
• Technical lead or team leadership experience
• Systems engineering experience
• Project engineering/leadership experience
Desired Skills:
• Cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong communications skills
• Engineering experience within Integration & Airworthiness competencies
• Formal leadership experience
• Prior experience in one or more Vehicle Systems/Flight Sciences competency areas
• Formal CAM Experience
• Functional, Project or Program leadership experience in Systems Engineering as Applied to Air Vehicle Design & Development
• Technical expertise in Air Vehicle Design & Development for flight/safety-critical systems
• Experience in multiple areas of VS engineering or VS-related lines of business, especially those associated with Software Intensive Systems
• Knowledge of LM Aero Online Systems (VEMO, PDM, JDL, Tableau)
• Experience arranging and managing Tech Services support
• Experience conducting Structured Improvement Activities
• Strong executive and team level communication skills - both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across organizational levels and entities
• Experience planning and forecasting resources (manpower, material, etc.)
• Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
• Technical problem-solving and strong analytical skills
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and diverse team environments
• Ability to engage with all levels of management
• Experience building and leading effective teams
• Proficiency in operating in complex environments, building relationships, and meeting customer expectations
• Understanding of financial impacts of team decisions
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
