Description:
You will be the Systems Engineer - Reliability and Maintainability - Level 4 for the Reliability and Maintainability team which is responsible for ensuring system designs enable efficient, safe, and cost‑effective maintenance throughout the product lifecycle.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Systems Engineer - Reliability and Maintainability you will be responsible for shaping design decisions that improve maintainability, lower lifecycle cost, and support operational readiness across the program.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) to define maintenance actions, task times, and resource requirements.
- Evaluate system designs for accessibility, modularity, standardization, and fault isolation.
- Analyze Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and other maintainability metrics, and recommend improvements.
- Define and validate maintenance concepts for organizational, intermediate, and depot‑level support.
- Assess support equipment, tools, and skill‑level requirements and mentor less‑experienced engineers.

You are an independent, technically strong engineer who blends reliability expertise with maintainability insight. You excel at collaborating with systems, design, logistics, and test teams, leading technical reviews, and mentoring junior engineers. Your analytical mindset drives continuous improvement of maintainability throughout the program.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance with an investigation within 5 years to start.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field
• Experience performing maintainability analysis such as Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), or equivalent
• Experience working with engineering drawings, system architectures, or technical data packages
• Ability to interpret system designs and assess maintainability impacts
• Familiarity with maintainability metrics such as MTTR and operational availability
Desired Skills:
• Experience with military or industry standards such as MIL-HDBK-472, MIL-HDBK-338, or similar
• Familiarity with GEIA-STD-0007 or Logistics Product Data (LPD) concepts
• Experience working with digital thread / digital engineering environments
• Experience developing or reviewing technical manuals, IETMs, or training materials
• Familiarity with fielded system support and real-world maintenance environments
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
