Be a part of this story as the Manager for the Advanced Material and Technology Insertion team where you will support process development of materials and transition of technologies to platforms. The selected candidate will lead the team in developing technology plans and roadmaps focused on process technology. The candidate will support opportunities to proactively advance process technologies to quickly integrate at production levels that can be certified. Working to increase collaboration with programs and other disciplines, and effectively communicate status and issues to higher levels of ownership is expected. Tasking will also include direct support to programs, proposal preparation and review, failure analysis and corrective action generation including collaborating with suppliers to resolve technical issues, and communicating with external customers to understand technologies needed for future pursuits. In addition, the candidate is responsible for staffing assignments of engineering personnel to Aeronautics projects. This responsibility includes all aspects of staffing (re-assignments and placements, recruitment, selection of new employees, and terminations) and personnel management (training, mentoring, career development, performance and compensation, and promotions).
A level 5 employee Typically has 14 - 20 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
Engineering or other technical bachelor's degree (STEM).
Material or process technical background in one or more of the following areas: additive manufacturing/3D printing, composites, ceramics, metallics/refractory, sealants, adhesives, and/or finishes.
Technical leadership capability within challenging technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
Project management experience including resource and budget planning and management.
Project management experience including resource and budget planning and management.
Desired Skills:
Team leadership experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated collaboration with internal and external customers, DoD labs, and other government agencies on research and development, including CRAD.
Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain management, to ensure successful integration and identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
Experience on one or more Air Vehicle programs.
Familiarity with research project development and funding requests.
Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, proactive communication, and building collaborative relationships.
Experience with development of air vehicle products.
Experience preparing and delivering presentations to internal leadership and external customers.
Experience with strategic technical planning and proposal development.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management.
Planning and management of personnel resources, staff development and capital resources. Including recruitment, selection, training, assignments, performance, merit planning, recognition and disciplinary actions.
Experience supporting classified and sensitive programs.
Experience/Knowledge with Agile Methodologies (for Hardware) and JIRA.
Experience/Knowledge with Dassault 3DExperience PLM.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
