Job Responsibilities
Description:WHAT WE'RE DOING
The Flight School Next (FSN) program is a rotary‑wing training initiative that provides ab‑initio training for Army rotary‑wing pilots. FSN leverages modern Instructional System Design (ADDIE) principles to create an effective, efficient training system for initial entry rotary‑wing (IERW) pilots.
THE WORK
- Direct all training system design operations supporting the FSN program and contract.
- Mentor and coach a diverse team of instructional‑system‑design and courseware specialists.
- Oversee, technically advise, and approve FSN training curriculum and material design/updates.
- Serve as senior liaison with maintenance, sustainment, engineering, certification, customer support, business development, and contracts for successful training implementation.
- Act as the senior FSN Training Program technical representative within LMC and with external agencies (AVCOE, FAA, etc.).
- Lead development, implementation, and updates of curriculum, courseware, and syllabi for IERW POIs.
- Ensure flight operations comply with FAA, military, AVCOE, and international civil‑aviation regulations and policies.
- Maintain an active Secret security clearance and enforce Lockheed Martin safety policies.
- Represent Lockheed Martin in government and industry forums on rotorcraft policy and safety.

- Proven experience in instructional‑system‑design (ADDIE) and curriculum development for aviation or military training.

Basic Qualifications:
• Military Rotary Wing Instructor Experience (UH-60, AH-64, TH-1, MH-60, UH-1, etc.)
• Prior experience delivering military pilot academic and simulator training
• Strong understanding of TRADOC, AVCOE, USAACE, US Army, FAA, and other pertinent processes/regulations applicable to the effective implementation of Rotary Aircraft Pilot Training
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Training Development/Management or a related field (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
Desired Skills:
• Prior Army IERW flight instructor experience or Prior Army IERW ground/academic instructor experience
• Helicopter/Rotary Wing: 1,000 hrs (Minimum)
• Helicopter/Rotary Wing Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 Hours
• Instructor Hours (Count toward PIC Total): 250 Hours
• Instrument Hours: 100 Hours
• Instrument Instructor Hours: 50 Hours
• Night Hours: 75 Hours (Minimum 25 Hours non-NVG)
• Flying Time in the last 12 Months: 100 Hours (may be waived)
• Actual Weather Hours: 10 Hours
• Graduate of DoW Senior Service School or Equivalent (i.e. Army Command and Staff College, Warrant Officer Advanced Common Core, Air Command and Staff College, etc.)
• Master’s degree in Training Development/Management or related field.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with ATP (Rotary Wing) or an equivalent military rating
• FAA Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument or Military Equivalent (such as Graduate of US Army Instructor Pilot Course and Instrument Flight Examiner Course)
• FAA-authorized Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs)(Rotary Wing) or equivalent military rating (such as U.S. Army Standardization Instructor Pilot)
• Valid rotorcraft-helicopter rating
• A current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to beginning duties.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication; ability to present to senior leadership, distinguished visitors and guests, organization employees and students
• Strong process discipline with focus on efficiency and optimization
• Demonstrated ability to build, lead and motivate high performance teams
• Demonstrated problem solving skills (identification, analysis, mitigation/solution planning, implementation, and results)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
