Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a model based system engineer - Entry Level. You will be responsible for contributing to Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) implementation for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Common Missile Compartment (CMC) and development, integration, and deployment of a Model-Based Verification.
The successful candidate will employ MBSE approaches to developing Systems Engineering products using the Systems Modeling Language (SysML), DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF) and MBSE tools to capture, maintain, and visualize a total system solution within an integrated system model to communicate the design and facilitate automation of Systems Engineering integration with other domains. The candidate will also work with the LM Space and FBM program MBSE teams to ensure that all CMC MBSE products share the same architecture framework and standards.
The successful candidate will also support integrate state of modeling and DX deployment for Customer facing presentations on state of MBSE using Modeling and DX in multiple working group meetings.
As a CMC Associate Systems Engineer for MBSE, you will:
• Play a leading role in transforming the CMC Program into a fully Model-Based organization, including the rapid implementation of the "Full Digital Thread" from Concept & Requirements all the way through to Model-based Manufacturing, Integration, Verification & Deployment
• Work as a thought leader and pathfinder to develop, optimize & demonstrate best practices and modern MBSE processes & standards for incorporation into the wider FBM & Strategic & Missile Defense (SMD) organizations
• Integrate and work collaboratively with the FBM MBE Core Team and associated Communities of Practice to demonstrate the adoption of modern industry standards and emerging technologies
• Have access to advanced training and/or certifications in the areas of MBSE and Systems Architecture as part of a talent pipeline of certified Systems Engineers and System Architects
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems--analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
• Research and identify digital capabilities available and developing at the Enterprise and commercial levels for utilization as opportunities on the CMC program
• Coordinate with subject matter experts across LM Space for deployment of capabilities for use on CMC and FBM DX Roadmap
• Participate with DX stakeholders across FBM and Customer to deploy capabilities in time to benefit CMC projects
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Understanding Systems Engineering lifecycle models and work products
• Understanding of technical documentation and drawings
Desired Skills:
• Electrical engineering or Mechanical engineering experience
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks (DODAF, ABD, Harmony, etc.)
• Familiarity with Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM)
• Experience with software development (Python, MATLAB, or similar script programming)
• Experience with analysis/simulation development and integration
• Experience with test planning, execution, and test automation or Hands-on test equipment operation in a lab environment
• Experience with process development and deployment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
• Familiarity with Risk & Opportunity
• Familiarity with Analog Circuit Design & Analysis
• Familiarity with Digital & Analog Filter Design
• Familiarity with IRIG 106 Chapter 10 Telemetry Standard
• Familiarity with RF Path Link Analysis
• Familiarity with Fault Tree or Fishbone Analysis

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
