Nicole - Aerospace Engineer at Aeronautics
After graduating from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, May of 2015, Nicole Pelliccia started her dream job at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. She is currently in her second year of the Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP). Nicole has spent her first two rotations in Palmdale, California, supporting the Skunk Works® - Advanced Development Programs. After rotating in Subsystems Design Engineering for a year, Nicole currently has the unique opportunity to see her designs come to life as a Production Operations Project Engineer. Prior to joining ELDP, Nicole worked as a Systems Engineer on F-22 Improvements and Derivatives in Fort Worth, Texas.
Before joining Lockheed Martin, Nicole worked part-time as a Co-Op for NASA Wallops Island, as a Launch Vehicle Engineer on the NASA Sounding Rocket Operations Contract II. She was also an intern for Bombardier Learjet and spent a semester abroad studying Aircraft Design at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
Nicole led her senior design team, UAVT, to win the 2015 Aerospace and Ocean Engineering (AOE) Design Showcase Award - Aircraft Division. In her senior year at Virginia Tech, Nicole partnered with the AOE Department to start the AOE Alumni Mentoring Program (AMP). After graduation, Nicole joined the AOE Advisory Board as their Young Alumni Member and continues to lead the AMP.
