What does Production Operations do at Lockheed Martin?
The Production Operations team at Lockheed Martin Space is responsible for assembling the major to minor hardware subcomponents that are part of spacecraft. They serve as the main building block for the greater Space organization’s needs of customers that include putting astronauts on Mars, creating 3D printed satellites, launching payloads that learn in orbit and developing national defense systems.
Production Operations is known for innovation. Team members have the opportunity each day to contribute to multiple missions that strengthen the legacy of Lockheed Martin Space. Employees get to participate in programs that include creating the satellites that everyone’s cell phone accesses for GPS, building vessels that will take the first woman to the moon and the first people to Mars.
