The Satellite System Engineer is part of the 24/7 operations team.

This position operates in a highly dynamic environment so you will be expected to have the ability to work within tight timelines with rapidly changing priorities.

You will need to have exceptional customer interface skills and possess the ability to work conflicting requirements for resources in a timely fashion.

You will be asked to develop new and/or update existing operational procedures, be responsible for documenting system discrepancies and working with the development and Ops teams to prioritize existing discrepancy reports for delivery to ops.

Travel for conferences and enterprise activities may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Typically has Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Entry level.

Basic Qualifications:
• Must be able to work rotational shifts and perform in a dynamic test and operational environment
• Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to function in a multi-contractor environment
• Ability to plan, prioritize, schedule, manage and report on assigned tasks
• Successful applicants must possess a strong operations oriented technical background and
• Microsoft Office Applications experience
• Must be willing to travel occasionally (approximately 1 week/year)
• Must be willing to obtain site specific certifications: System Operator certification and COMSEC certification
Desired Skills:
• Common computer architectures and operating systems
• Networking, LINUX, MSWindows, computer system architectures
• Experience with telecommunication/satellite communications, including RF/digital/analog circuits
• Satellite operations experience including troubleshooting operational problems and generating operational procedures
• Possess a current TS/SCI
