Project Engineer Associate / Virginia Beach, VA

Analyze combat system requirements, concept of operations documents, system block diagrams, high-level system architecture, and installation control drawings in development of technical data packages for integration of shipboard combat systems.

Develop sections of system engineering documentation such as system change descriptions, ship impact summary, and installation control drawing lists under supervision of a senior engineer.

With assistance, assess system requirements and coordinate design activities to develop system integration products.

Interact with government representatives or other project engineering personnel regarding engineering considerations and recommended solutions for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.

Coordinate resolution of action items from design reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.

Investigate and develop recommendations for emergent technical issues of limited scope, and assist in preparing engineering studies to support meetings, working groups, and technical decisions.
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Engineering or related technical field or commensurate experience.

Experience writing and compiling technical documentation into cohesive reports.

Able to track the status and maintain forward progress for projects with shifting priorities.

Effective time management skills that allow for rotating between various projects at dissimilar stages of completion.

Experience working across functional groups.

Proficient with MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Some travel required (< 20%). Able to travel to waterfront locations and work in an industrial environment.
Desired Skills:
Strong initiative characteristics and interpersonal skills.

Ability to interpret equipment installation drawings and system block diagrams.

Familiarity or operational experience with the AEGIS Weapon System.

Experience interfacing with the US Navy and US Government organizations.
