The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program provides all launch processing support functions for Office of Space Launch (OSL). One of the program’s two primary operating locations is Vandenberg AFB, CA. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, transport operations, propellant loading operations, and processing facilities O&M, clean room operations, and safety and environmental services.

The PLSSS program seeks a Field Engineer who will be responsible for daily coordination of personnel and equipment necessary to perform scheduled tasks. This position will also act as the Task Lead when configuring access near extremely high-value hardware, during military aircraft on/off-loading operations and hazardous/oversized load transports. Works closely with all the Integrated Project Team (IPT) members prior to, during and after mission operations to assure program requirements are met.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Basic Qualifications:
o Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 5 years of professional experience. Candidates without degrees who have equivalent experience/combined education (13 years of relevant experience) will also be considered.

o Must be familiar with high value hardware processing operations

o Able to work at heights on elevated platforms

o Willing to work extended shifts, weekends, odd start times and night shift as required to support mission operations

o Must be a United States citizen

o Able to obtain a SCI security clearance
Desired Skills:
o Previous experience working within a multi-organizational environment.

o Experience working with and around high value hardware.

o Current Certified Test Conductor or experience with critical test protocol.

o Familiar with military aircraft loading operations
