Lead F-16 Aircraft Structures Modification Engineer

Description:The selected candidate will be part of the on-site support team at Ogden Air Logistics Center, Utah with responsibility for providing leadership and technical/engineering support for F-16 structures. The candidate will perform the following:
- All engineering functions related to aircraft modification/service life extension
- Understand depot maintenance practices and rocesses sufficient knowledge and experience to resolve technical issues adversely affecting production schedule
- Have knowledge of part manufacturing and tooling principals so that questions associated with replacement tooling can be addressed
- Have sufficient knowledge of structural design and repair concepts to provide engineering disposition recommendations on non-conforming depot and field aircraft
- Be able to provide drawing and specification interpretations and clarifications to resolve issues concerning process specifications associated with part design, finish, and assembly
- Assist in resolving general aircraft sustainment issues (Aircraft Structural Integrity Program, Analytical Condition Inspection, Deficiency Reporting, corrosion, paint/strip, quality issues, investigations, data development and assessment, analyses, corrective actions, etc.), as required.

Other responsibilities include:
Plans, coordinates and performs all engineering functions associated with aircraft modifications, and design changes or alterations to aircraft structures
- Investigates and analyzes field and depot aircraft structural issues and develops recommended solutions to meet aircraft structural maintenance and performance standards
- Interprets and clarifies drawing requirements for aircraft maintenance and modification
- Performs investigations, analysis and recommends corrective action for aircraft structural projects
- Evaluates new technology for possible structural integration
- Prepares technical data, test plans, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required publications.

This position requires a government Secret Security Clearance. To be considered, you must be a United States citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline
- Understanding and experience with the Air Force aircraft structural modification process
- Experience with aircraft depot maintenance practices and processes
- Experience working with part manufacturing, and tooling principals
- Experience with structural design and repair concepts
Desired Skills:
- Masters Degree in Aeronautical Engineering
– Experience with working with USG depot or maintenance facilities and personnel
- Experience in leading or mentoring multidisciplinary teams comprised of contractors and government personnel
- Ability to address interchangeability of structural components and assemblies. This requires a good knowledge of MPRS.
- Experience with the Air Force acquisition process to support the customer in critical parts procurement.
- Experience with F-16 aircraft mechanical and avionics systems and of F-16 aircraft maintenance
- Understand of corrosion mechanisms and paint/corrosion protection systems for F-16 aircraft.
