THE WORK
The Senior Manager of Information Systems and Innovation within Global Sustainment leads a geographically diverse team in developing and sustaining commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom software tools for RMS Lines of Business (LOBs). This role directs strategic innovation, digital transformation, and information systems, driving internal efficiencies, enhanced readiness, and cost reductions, including operations in contested environments. The successful candidate fosters enterprise-wide collaboration, technology alignment, and continuous innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Innovation and Leadership:

* Lead initiatives enhancing operational efficiency and sustainment capabilities.

* Develop solutions improving readiness and lifecycle cost-effectiveness.

* Ensure technologies operate effectively in contested environments.

System and Tool Management:

* Plan and direct engineering programs; organize and coordinate project teams.

* Manage the lifecycle of sustainment-focused software tools.

* Collaborate with Engineering & Technology (E&T) and Information Technology (IT) on strategic roadmaps and investment decisions.

* Monitor industry trends to maintain RMS leadership in sustainment technologies.

Enterprise Alignment and Collaboration:

* Align digital transformation initiatives with enterprise-wide technology strategies.

* Promote common tools/platforms to maximize efficiency.

* Partner with Lockheed Martin AI Center (LAIC) to integrate AI & ML in product development and process optimization.

Technology Roadmapping:

* Develop and communicate roadmaps aligned with sustainment innovation strategies.

* Assess emerging technologies for integration.

Cross-Functional Program Leadership:

* Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering innovative sustainment solutions.

* Coordinate with LOBs, engineers, supply chain, and business development to expedite capability delivery.

* Foster continuous improvement and agile experimentation.

Investment Strategy and Financial Oversight:

* Define and manage annual IRAD and capital investments.

* Oversee budgets, ensuring resource efficiency.

* Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations.

Workforce Management:

* Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management.

* Conduct assessments and manage recognition and disciplinary actions.

* Utilize metrics for workforce reporting and improvement.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement:

* Engage stakeholders for requirements capture, feedback, and value demonstration.

* Clearly communicate complex technical concepts across diverse audiences.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

15+ years of relevant experience in technology leadership, innovation, digital transformation, or sustainment software development.

Proven experience managing cross-functional technical teams and large-scale software development initiatives.

Demonstrated ability to define and manage investment portfolios (IRAD, Capital, and Overhead).

Comprehensive understanding of sustainment operations, readiness drivers, and supporting tools (e.g., publishing, logistical support analysis (LSA), material management, forecasting).

Proven leadership capability within large, complex, matrixed organizations.

Exceptional strategic planning, communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.

Experience managing workforce using defined measurements and metrics.
Desired Skills:
Advanced degree (MBA or MS in Engineering/Technology).

Experience in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.

Familiarity with contested operational environments.

Track record of successful collaboration across large enterprise structures.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $166,400 - $288,305. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $144,600 - $255,070. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
