This position supports Out of Production Sustainment Machined Parts Commodity buying, helping ensure the availability of critical materials and services needed to support ongoing sustainment operations.

THE WORK

In this role, you will support sourcing and procurement activities for machined parts commodities in support of sustainment operations. Responsibilities include supplier management, procurement strategy execution, negotiation support, and ensuring supplier performance meets cost, quality, and delivery expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Source, negotiate, and procure machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and supplies necessary to support operations
• Analyze supplier proposals, evaluate pricing trends, and establish price objectives to support cost-effective procurement strategies
• Monitor supplier performance related to cost, quality, and schedule requirements
• Support negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best overall value while maintaining quality and delivery standards
• Review and evaluate supplier operations to identify factors impacting pricing and performance
• Track and analyze data related to manufacturing processes, supplier performance, and market pricing trends
• Identify opportunities to leverage material acquisitions and improve procurement efficiencies
• Prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and bid packages as needed
• Maintain procurement records and support follow-up activities to ensure timely delivery and payment processing
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support sustainment objectives and resolve procurement-related challenges

WHO YOU ARE

You are a collaborative and detail-oriented supply chain professional with strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable managing supplier relationships, analyzing procurement data, and supporting complex sourcing activities.

You are someone who:

• Demonstrates strong organizational and project management skills
• Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and supplier management
• Enjoys solving complex procurement and supply chain challenges
• Has a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Works effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent combined experience
• Experience supporting procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or supplier management activities
• Experience communicating and negotiating with internal stakeholders and suppliers
• Ability to analyze data, manage priorities, and support procurement decision-making
• Strong organizational and communication skills
Desired Skills:
• Excellent communication, organization and project management skills required
• Strong background in government, international or commercial contracts a plus
• Aerospace Supply chain management or related manufacturing procurement experience preferred
Specific competencies shall include:
• A thorough understanding of SAC Purchasing Policies & Procedures
• A thorough understanding of SAC’s Business Ethics and Codes of Conduct.
• A basic understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations, FARS, DFARS, Commerciality, etc.
• A basic understanding of MRP, SAP, SDS, etc.
• Delivery Dashboard, Supply Hub, Supplier Portal, etc.
• Experience in interacting and managing customer/supplier relationships a plus attention to detail, enjoy complex problems, excellent communication and organization skills, project management, negotiation skills.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
