As a Contamination Control Engineer supporting Integrated Launch Operations (ILO) you’ll work on a broad range of projects, in an operations environment, that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. The ILO team supplements launch campaigns in providing technical engineering, payload operations, satellite processing support, and support propellant loading operations to LM programs at the launch base. In addition, you will be a part of the LM Space Contamination Control Engineering (CCE) team and may support programs at any portion of the spacecraft lifecycle. Working side by side with designers, test and manufacturing engineers, you’ll use your education, experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new technology to survive in the most hostile of environments

In this role you will:
• Provide support to the Florida ILO base programs with analyzing test data, and other engineering duties.
• Perform Contamination Control technical engineering assignments
• Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes, prepare technical and progress reports, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports.
• Coordinate with other teams such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement

Basic Qualifications:
• Materials or process related background and/or field of study
• Experience with cleanrooms, precision cleaning, materials testing, thermal vacuum test or Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) monitoring
• Understanding and application of IEST-STD-CC1246, ISO-14644, ASTM E 1548, analytical laboratory equipment or techniques that apply to specialized contamination monitoring equipment and tools
• Non-conformance and failure analysis disposition experience
• Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills

This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance. US Citizenship required.
Desired Skills:
• Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
• Experience implementing contamination control for space applications or related field
• Experience with precision cleaning of hardware or producing verification products for government customers
• Knowledge of Materials and Processes for product development, improvement, design, application and production
• Understanding and experience with system level Integration and Test including environmental requirements related to the assembly of the LM Space Vehicle.
• Ability to create and update instructions and procedures in Automation Framework
• Experience working collaboratively with customers and teammates
