We are seeking a new Associate Manager for the Structures Test Group (STG) laboratory located at the Sunnyvale, CA Campus who will ensure excellence in technical capability and test expertise in the support of laboratory customers.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:
• Coordinate and interface directly with customers and other team members to assist with the various test requirements within product life cycles, primarily related to aerospace structures.
• As an integral part of the Structures, Materials, and Propulsion Test (SMPT) organization, drive effective communication and collaboration across the laboratories and customers.
• Work closely with the Denver Structural Test Lab (STG) to increase commonality of test processes, procedures and equipment across the two labs.
• Commit time and resources to continuous process improvement and to providing solutions to difficult engineering issues.
• Provide a highly efficient, safe and effective test facility and manage annual budgets, laboratory equipment, infrastructure and capital planning to maintain and grow lab capabilities.
• Acquire, develop, maintain and motivate the human resources required to meet STG customers’ most critical test and development needs to ensure that customers are provided with value added test services that meet both cost and schedule targets.
• Conduct operations in a manner that provides 100% Mission Success while maintaining safe working conditions for employees, contractors and visitors, protecting the environment, and conserving natural resources.

Basic Qualifications:
• Engineering degree (e.g. Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Physics) from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
• Must be a US citizen and have the willingness and ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives of Shaping the Future, Building Effective Relationships, Energizing the Team, Delivering Results and Modeling Personal Excellence, Integrity and Accountability.
• Experience coordinating multi-discipline teams to achieve positive results in an engineering lab environment to perform structural or mechanical testing of high value hardware at the component and/or system level.
Desired Skills:
• Highly effective oral and written communication abilities needed to coordinate with the internal customers, the Structures Test Group staff and management.
• Understanding of Design Engineering principles and practices and test system and fixture hardware design/fabrication coordination experience.
• Experience developing and implementing collaborative strategies for continuous process improvement for improved affordability and/or efficiency.
• Direct background in Missile, Spacecraft, Aircraft or Rotary Wing Structural Testing.
• Lockheed Martin Space Test Engineering/Certified Test Conductor (CTC) experience.
