Join us as the Manager of the Central Engineering Loads and Dynamics Group at Lockheed Martin Space at the Sunnyvale campus, part of Mechanical and Propulsion Engineering!
This team provides technical support and expertise related to all skills within Loads and Dynamics, including loads, structural dynamics, spacecraft dynamics, environments, separation mechanics, structural modeling, and testing including modal, acoustic, random vibration, shock and jitter.
As the leader, you will maintain and grow the technical expertise of the team. You will be responsible for all aspects of talent management, including training, professional and career development, performance evaluations, promotions and compensation. You will collaborate with programs and other functional organizations to ensure program staffing requirements are met. Provide technical expertise for program technical oversite and problem resolution. Ensure Engineering Standards and best practices and tools are applied. Actively support strategic initiatives to enable affordability and efficiency and to utilize standard products and common designs.
Promote an active, inclusive and diverse work culture which fosters innovation and technical talent mentoring, growth, and standard methodologies for the team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong technical skill and extensive experience in aerospace structural dynamics, including computer-aided and classical analysis methods. Experience utilizing standard structural analysis tools, such as NASTRAN, NX and ABAQUS.
- You demonstrated the ability to organize, motivate, mentor and lead groups of engineers.
- You must exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to effectively communicate with and make presentations to a diverse set of management and customers over complex technical issues.
- You should have proven ability to plan, propose and coordinate work and personnel across multiple projects and organizational structures.
- Requires a minimum of 12 years of technical experience with an engineering Bachelors degree, 10 years of technical experience with an engineering Masters degree, or 8 years of technical experience with an engineering Doctorate degree. Demonstrated management or team lead experience.
Desired Skills:
- Considered a technical leader/expert in structural analysis and engineering - design, analysis, and test in aerospace, satellite or space vehicles.
- Demonstrated knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines, manufacturing processes and test.
- Familiarity with aerospace hardware and development processes.
- Ability to work closely with functional and program management, as well as other engineering leaders and experts.
- Knowledge of analysis of composite materials, bonded joints, bolted joints and additive manufacturing.
