Then you should join Lockheed Martin Space’s Optical Payload Center of Excellence (OPCoE) for space applications as a Senior Staff Electro-Optical Engineer!

As an Electro-Optical Engineer with OPCoE, your responsibilities will include:

• Technical management of the subcontractor hardware teams
• Understanding of the Specifications and derived requirements flowdown, the Payload System architecture, Concept of Operations, and interface requirements
• Oversee the requirement's development, flowdown and verification events including support for overall test program and data trending program development
• Assure the subcontractor understands the requirements and needs of the program
• Work with the IPT, CPEs, Subcontract Manager and Program Management to coordinate Payload System level impacts
• Review and understand the technical content of design reviews at the Payload and component levels, consult with LM program management, and ensure successful closure of all action items and design artifacts
• Support resolution of test failures, hardware anomalies, and provide support to system engineering during critical program achievements

We are looking for a strong foundation and experience in electro-optical engineering. You should demonstrate effective verbal communication, develop concise and professional technical presentations, and have the ability to deliver briefings to peers, leadership, and US Government customers. You should be able to work in a classified environment. This position will require some travel.

You would typically have a Bachelors degree and 14 - 20 years of professional experience, a Masters and 12 - 18 years, or a PhD and 9 - 15 years.

Basic Qualifications:
• Background in development of space flight E-O payloads, subsystems, or major components
• Experience working with leadership and IPTs
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• Familiarity with LM engineering command media
• Engineering Team Lead, or Lead CPE or delegate Lead CPE experience on a development program
• Experience in all phases of the development cycle for aerospace E-O Payloads
• Experience working with specialty engineering - PMP approvals, reliability analysis, contamination modeling, material applications, parts engineering, etc.
• Knowledge of optical payload suppliers and products
• Experience working on a subcontract management team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
• Active TS Clearance
