Property Classification Analyst

Description:IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.

Determine classification of unidentified or misidentified property items, such as fixed assets, facilities, and project support tools and equipment, by selecting and analyzing data on their source, use, modifications, cost, contract charges, in accordance with Company and Government property procedures.
Conduct extensive records and field searches to locate equipment, evaluate
effectiveness of property regulations in an organization, or determine causes of
discrepancies. Initiate documentation to reconcile discrepant property records.

Submit reports and recommendations for decontrol of items, revised classification measures, and similar corrective action.
Advise and assist others in the interpretation and application of property classification procedures and regulations, governing identification, disposition and movement for transfer, loan, or repair.
Basic Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Company and Government property accounting procedures and regulations, Receiving/Materiel functions, LMSC procurement files and how they relate to property accounting records. Familiarization with various classifications and categories of property acquired and used at LMSC departments. Ability to recognize and to reconcile discrepant records. Knowledge of established computer systems and automated equipment. Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and courteously with all
personnel.
Desired Skills:
Demonstrated ability to interact tactfully and courteously with all internal and external personnel. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience working with computer systems and applications such as Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Familiar with standard audit processes and procedures. Ability to lift and move equipment assets weighing up to 35lbs. Experience driving forklift and/or ability to obtain certification.
