We are searching for a Photonic Integrated Circuit Design and Test Engineer to join our exceptional team. In this role you will support RF and Electro-optic systems by designing and testing photonic integrated circuits for communication, ISR and EW missions. We are looking for someone to come to this role with expertise in optical characterization and design of photonic integrated circuit devices. You should have strong working knowledge of fiber to chip alignment and coupling, lasers, detectors, measurement techniques for characterizing die optical and electrical performance including insertion loss, switching/filter characteristics, modulation parameters.

You will also have knowledge of standard design and analysis tools – AutoCAD, R-Soft, and MATLAB are desired. This role will not only strengthen your lab skills, but will provide opportunities to develop knowledge of the overall system integration and how the technologies developed and characterized result in overall performance enhancements.

We are seeking a colleague with strong communication and collaboration skills to work in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment.

You would typically have a Bachelors degree and 5- 10 years of professional experience or a Masters and 3 - 5 years, or a PhD and 0 - 3 years.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with fiber positioning and alignment techniques
• Fiber splicing custom optical assemblies and fiber attach
• Working knowledge of optical and RF test equipment: Optical spectrum analyzers, lasers, high speed detectors, probe stations, interferometers, network analyzers, etc.
• Demonstrated knowledge of design and characterization of packaged components
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience characterizing RF performance at die level
• Knowledge of standard software for RF/photonic analysis: F-Soft, Matlab, HFSS, ADS
