As a Certified Principle Engineer (CPE) for Remote Sensing you will be responsible for an inertial reference unit (IRU) and/or star reference unit (SRU). CPE responsibilities include serving as the primary technical lead for the procurement, development, integration, and test of the IRU and/or SRU. The CPE must work with the IRU / SRU vendors, subcontracts, specialty engineering, pointing control system, and dynamics teams to support system integration and analysis.

Typically has 5 - 9 years of experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• BS in Engineering or Science (or related discipline)
• Experience with hardware design, and test
• Demonstrated ability to successfully serve as the primary technical lead for hardware development
• Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with pointing control analysis and dynamics teams to support hardware design and performance analyses
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Current SSBI and Special Access clearance
Desired Skills:
• MS in Engineering or Science with 3 or more years experience with hardware design, and test
• Demonstrated experience with performance analysis of IRUs / SRUs
• Experience with spacecraft GNC hardware
• Experience with GNC component Specification and SOW development
• Experience with test procedure development, test equipment, component and subsystem test, trouble-shooting, anomaly investigation, data processing, and data review
• Current experience in the Sunnyvale Special Programs Line of Business
• Familiarity with the Sunnyvale Special Programs customers, system design, and processes
• Experience with fiber optics rate sensors and high accuracy star trackers
