Lockheed Martin is looking for a dedicated Senior Ground Systems Engineer to join the Operations, Sustainment & Logistics (OSL), Satellite Engineering, Operations & Sustainment Support (SEOSS) Integration team primarily focusing on COOLS operations.

You will be part of a team of Ground System Engineers (GSE) in the MASC and SASC supporting complete Spacecraft Factory lifecycle including vehicle, ground and system tests, launch readiness campaigns, launch activities & on-orbit sustainment of multiple MILSPACE constellations.

As a Senior Ground Systems Engineer, you will
• Use and maintain a wide variety of technologies in a 24x7 operational environment, working side-by-side with the customer
• Be the primary point of contact for system utilization during mission operations, testing and development
• Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, and tune system performance
• Interact with users and evaluate vendor products
• Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provide backup recovery
• Perform successful troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex problem resolution
• Analyze and assess server performance and plan for future needs
• Author documentation of Standard Operating Instructions (SOI) in highly complex server environments

Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in an Engineering or closely related field, or equivalent experience
• Systems Engineering process knowledge and experience
• Active Security+ CE Certification or ability to obtain within six months
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux (e.g., RedHat, etc.) systems
• Be able to support on-call 24X7 and off-shift for mission critical events/operation that may require extended hours or weekend supports
• Active Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• System integration experience
• Familiarity with DoD program support
• Data center operations, preferably in a DoD environment
• Knowledge of Lockheed Martin systems and processes
• VMWare expertise
• Configuration Management experience
• Experience maintaining systems in compliance with DoD standards (NISPOM or RMF)
• System scripting proficiency
• Experience with blade server technology, System Virtualization & Clustering, and Enterprise Domain Administration (RHEL & Windows)
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communications skills
• Experience of Systems Engineering life cycle process and tools
• Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change
