Virtually every Lockheed Martin Space mission success starts with a strong foundation of facility infrastructure design, which is built and operated risk free in support of business needs without interruption. As a Facilities Manager here you’ll have the opportunity to use your education and experience to take on formidable challenges and become an integral part of our team as we build new, and maintain current, state of the art engineering facilities. You’ll use innovative approaches that help insure reliability of mechanical infrastructure that produces cutting edge space systems and analyzes trends while managing operational efficiencies.

Our facility in Sunnyvale, CA has an immediate opportunity for a Facility Operations Manager. In this role, you will have leadership responsibility for the Plant Operations and Services (PO&S) at the Sunnyvale campus. What will an average day in the life look like?

• You will provide leadership and operational oversight for all infrastructure and maintenance and provide/maintain electrical, domestic water, natural gas, high pressure nitrogen utilities, primary and secondary heating and cooling systems, and maintain all fire protection, security/IBAS alarm system, and process water piping systems.

• You will provide technical leadership for all operations and maintenance of a 3M SF industrial complex including preparation and coordination of work activities for all planned outages and services.

• You’ll provide operational oversight to ensure full Line of Business support, engage the Plant Engineering Manager to assure Plant Engineering team’s integration into maintenance operations, facility condition assessment input to the capital & overhead infrastructure planning process, robust energy management and preventative/predictive maintenance programs that preserve capital asset acquisition and achieve useful life expectancies, a cost effective supply chain to support all operations, and oversight of 3rd party vendor support operation.

• You will ensure department compliance to all contractual and regulatory obligations and corporate ethics policy and support internal audit inquiries.

• You will operate to budget plan, support Facility Operations and Services strategic goals, meet certification and compliance training objectives, acquire necessary staffing, ensure development of employee technical training requirements, and sponsor and ensure implementation of LM21 process improvements and Risk Mitigation practices.

• You will lead the Tactical Maintenance department, chartered to provide 24/7/365 maintenance, security/building systems, and emergency support for programs and production & test operations

• You will have management responsibility for Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM,) HVAC /Refrigeration, Boiler systems, Preventative Maintenance, Reactive/Scheduled Maintenance activities and Maintenance Regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
• At least 4-8 years of experience in a supervisory to mid-level Facilities Operations leadership position

• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles

• Demonstrated leadership in the application and performance of Reliability Centered Maintenance programs

• Demonstrated facilities management experience in a classified government environment

• Previous experience in managing Operations and Maintenance activities for mission critical infrastructure in a 24/7 operational environment

• Must be a United States citizen

• Ability to obtain TS/SCI Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Business discipline

• Strong leadership experience and proven track record of engaging and developing teams

• Thorough knowledge of the composition of outsourced maintenance and material crib operations

• Excellent communication skills, executive presence, strong interpersonal and overall communication skills

• Strategic in nature with excellent customer service traits

• Demonstrated Large Industrial Plant Operations Expertise

• Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting

• Ability to leverage best industry practices within the LM enterprise

• Ability to develop and implement maintenance processes and infrastructure operational improvements

• Demonstrated learning agility in breadth of experience.

• Track record of effectively managing and leading through influence and collaboration.
