Our facility in Sunnyvale, CA has an immediate opportunity for an early career Facilities Project Representative to join our mission. Virtually every Lockheed Martin Space mission success starts with a strong foundation of facility infrastructure design, which is built and operated risk free in support of business needs without interruption. As a Facilities Project Representative at Space, you’ll have the opportunity to use your education and experience to take on formidable challenges with us and become an integral part of our Facilities team as we build new, and maintain current, state of the art engineering facilities. We operate in a dynamic environment to stay ahead of facility infrastructure needs and construction innovations through projects supporting many types of space. Such projects can include anechoic & thermal vacuum chamber test areas, critical manufacturing & assembly areas, technology support operations centers and cutting-edge customer demonstration capabilities to name a few. In this role, you’ll use innovative approaches that will help us facilitate our ability to achieve mission success.

Summary of Key Duties

• You will plan and direct and manage all phases of construction projects from initiation design implementation and close out

• You will ensure project requirements are defined, contract and contract changes are negotiated, operating budget established

• You will act as the primary contact for the facility project activities and will be responsible for multiple concurrent projects logistics and communication, review of costs, and schedule

• You will establish schedule milestones and monitor adherence to master plans, standards, construction specification, budget and schedule

• You will identify problems, status and develop solutions such as allocation of resources or changing project scope

• You will represent the facilities organization and provide coordination with internal staff, external subcontractors, telecommunication, and other space customers line of business

• You will interface with senior management on significant decision-making status

Our employees working in this level of position typically have 2-5 years of experience.
Basic Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of directly related work experience

• Experience managing projects that include controlling scope, schedule, and budget

• Experience managing project financial budget and scheduling milestones related to project management ranging form one thousand dollars to 10 million dollars

• Understand how to interpret construction drawings/ blueprints

• Proficient with Microsoft office suite including project

• Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience managing a minimum of 10 different projects at one time

• Project engineering background desired

• Strong skills with Microsoft project preferred

• Experience managing and negotiating project scopes and budget with architectural and engineering firms, general contractors and subcontractors

• Skilled in AutoCAD

• Understand earned value

• Ability to motivate team building and demonstrate good interpersonal customer skills, time management, and organizational strength

• Ability to develop solutions to a variety problem, recommendations and assist other peers

• Ability to prioritize projects between organizational direction and budget standard guide lines

• Self-starter requires little direction
