Network Engineer

Description:The Network Engineer position will provide direct operational support to the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation (CFI) located in Suffolk, VA as a member of the Enterprise Operations IT Team. This team provides the engineering and technical support required to execute the CFI mission.
Specific tasking and responsibilities are determined by CFI operations and may include:

• Support core network infrastructure.
Gather network requirements to support CFI events.
• Follow local change management procedures to implement secure solutions that meet corporate policies.
• Investigate and recommend new technologies that will improve CFI capabilities.
• Install, upgrade and troubleshoot network systems.
• Maintain a configuration managed baseline for all network devices.
• Develop and perform preventive maintenance checks for supported network devices.
• Position requires active DoD Secret clearance
Basic Qualifications:
Specifically, the position requires the following:
• Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Understanding of IP addressing & subnets.
• Experience with Cisco routers and switches.
• Hands on experience with common routing protocols.
• Hands on experience configuring switch ports, trunk ports, and link aggregation.
• Successful candidate must be a self-starter, working under minimal guidance, and be creative in seeking solutions to various technical challenges.
• Must have good communication and verbal skills to interact with customers.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be willing to work occasional off hours to support equipment installs and upgrades.
• Must have be willing to support a rotational on-call pager duty.
• Must be able to work in an environment where ability to troubleshoot in real time is a requirement.
• Must be able and willing to support setup/teardown of customer events in Center for Innovation event spaces.
• Ability to lift 35lbs.
• Must be able to stoop and kneel repeatedly to install network wiring in support of event space configuration.
Desired Skills:
• Experience configuring network devices to meet compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS).
• Experience creating network diagrams using Visio.
• Experience with Cisco wireless controllers and access points.
• Experience working in environments governed by DoD requirements.
• Certifications - CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, Security+, etc.
• Experience with Juniper SRX devices.
• Experience with Cisco video conference equipment.
• Experience with Cisco VoIP.
• Ability to neatly install copper and fiber cabling in racks.
• Experience with Infoblox IPAM product.
• Experience with microwave technologies such as Bridgewave.
