Description:Function  Perform independently and/or guide others in the performance of diversified assembly and rework operations on complicated machine parts assemblies utilized in a variety of transmission systems and components. Typical Responsibilities  Generally lead and instruct one to three helpers, and occasionally, as work flow demands, a group numbering seldom over 5.    Assign and check work of group and instruct employees in proper work methods and use of equipment.    Refer all other problems to Working Leader or Supervisor.    Perform diversified fitting, rework, and assembly operations on complicated machined parts to build up new and modified rotor heads, gear boxes and other machines parts assemblies.  Fit and rework parts involving filing, lapping, and scraping of flat and curved surfaces, reaming and facing bushings, burnishing bearings, shrink fitting mating parts, and other operations necessary to achieve proper functioning of completed assemblies.  Assemble major components to build complete rotor heads, gear boxes, prepare and perform hydraulic and electrical testing of all major units.   Generally work on most advanced types of machined parts assemblies and/or non repetitive or out of production units.  At the request of supervision, perform a variety of other duties, usually of a related or similar nature, such as installing assemblies in aircraft, devising shop aid tooling. etc.
Basic Qualifications:
2 to 3 years.
