Join the Sikorsky communications team within Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business area supporting the Army and Air Force Systems (AAFS) market segment.
Who we are:
Reporting to the Sikorsky Communications Sr. Manager, the Integrated Communications Strategist is a multi-channel communicator who is responsible for developing and executing proactive integrated communications strategies that enhance and protect the reputation of Sikorsky’s products and capabilities. This includes the Black Hawk helicopter family and sustainment.
The Work:
The ideal candidate is a multi-channel communications expert who is creative, resourceful, proactive, works efficiently with autonomy, and can provide strategic counsel as it relates to the most effective communications strategies and approaches. Collaboration is critical in this role, which involves project managing across communication functions (media relations, digital media, government affairs, marketing, visual communications, employee communications) to develop and execute communications plans to support business goals and strategy.
In addition, this communications strategist will lead and support communications for key tradeshows and other activities across the Sikorsky portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provides strategic comms counsel to the AAFS VP, serving as the communications expert on AAFS programs
• Develops and leads the execution and measurement of integrated channel, strategic communications plans – aligned with business priorities - for the AAFS market segment and other projects as assigned
• Demonstrates creativity; regularly shares innovative ideas, spots industry topics trending in the news cycle, and identifies process transformation opportunities
• Leads and supports key tradeshows and proactive internal and external communications strategies for the market segment and across the Sikorsky portfolio
• Identifies and vets media engagements, preparing subject matter experts; develops speeches, scripts and talking points for spokespeople when needed
• Develops and fosters strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customer or partner public affairs and journalists
• Collaborates with visual comms and business leaders on multimedia content
This is a hybrid role that will require attendance onsite at least two days a week and/or as business needs require. Due to mission requirements, the successful candidate will be based at our site in Stratford, Connecticut.

Basic Qualifications:
• Motivated, proactive self-starter who performs independently and works effectively and with urgency under competing priorities and tight deadlines
• Exceptional writing, editing and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways
• Communications experience in one or more of the following industries: Aerospace, Defense, Technology, Manufacturing
• Experience in a variety of communications disciplines including media relations, marketing, executive/employee communications
• Ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, public affairs officers, reporters and executive leadership
• Embraces AI and other emerging tools and trends
Desired Skills:
• Excellent strategist with keen creative instincts and expertise influencing leadership thinking in strategic communication and issues management
• Prior experience in program communications or working with media and influencers
• Experience in developing and executing integrated strategic communications plans that reach target markets and audiences
• Skilled at collecting and interpreting metrics to inform strategic communication direction
• Strong understanding of AP style

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
