Description:Function:
- Perform various duties at the Nonconforming Materials Crib to review the salvageability of a variety of vendor manufactured items placed on review for variations from engineering specifications and coordinate the review of rejected items.

Typical Job Responsibilities:
- Follow standard inspection procedures and accepted standards of quality control to inspect, analyze, and review rejected parts, materials, and assemblies to determine feasibility of salvage.
- Work from engineering drawings and specifications to ascertain the correctness of rejection.
- Verify reports for accuracy of count, part identification, and description of variant characteristics.
- Check dimensions as necessary using shop mathematics, precision measuring instruments, standard fixed gages, and specialized inspection equipment.
- Expedite disposition of items by shop priority.
- Prepare reports on scrap and recurring discrepancies for MRB files and disposition.
- Contact inspection personnel to clarify description or to obtain additional information regarding discrepancies.
- As directed, expedite the processing and handling of non-conforming material in accordance with shop priority.
- Utilize various computer systems to log in, track, and monitor reports and MRB parts dispositions.
- Pull parts for engineering review.
- Insure proper documentation and handling of scrap material and coordinate with Engineering as to what scrap materials and items may be used for Engineering Test Pieces.
- Refer intricate problems requiring more complete knowledge of function or relationship of dimensions, details, and parts to higher-grade inspector or supervisor.
- Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.
- As required, segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
- Requires shop trade knowledge and ability to work from drawings and use of shop mathematics to make trigonometric and geometric computations.
- Must have knowledge of machining and processing methods, inspection standards and procedures, and established methods of repair.
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments and standard fixed gages.
- Requires 4-year High School Diploma/GED.
- Requires 2 to 3 years of aircraft fabrication training or Trade school

Experience:
- 1 to 3 years.

Physical Demand:
- Moderate physical effort is required to pull parts from racks to disposition and to work with measuring instruments, lift and handle average weight parts, check drawings, and perform other MRB inspection operations.
Desired Skills:
- Part Inspection Experience
- Ability to use material handling equipment
- Ability to lift, pull, and carry up to 25lbs
- Ability to use a safety step ladder
- Ability to safely lift items from ground to rack
- Ability to safely pull items from rack to ground

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
