The Work
As the Project Manager for Machinery Acquisition and Installation, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end projects that bring new manufacturing machinery online. This role involves managing the entire project lifecycle—from initial procurement to final installation and integration—ensuring machinery is fully functional and aligned with production goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and managing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for machinery acquisition and installation
Coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure new equipment aligns with production requirements
Conducting market research and evaluating vendor proposals to identify optimal machinery solutions
Overseeing equipment installation and commissioning with internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors
Validating and documenting machinery performance against defined specifications including factory acceptance tests
Delivering regular updates to stakeholders, including customers, internal teams, and senior leadership
Preparing and monitoring capital and expense budgets, ensuring projects stay within financial targets
Collaborating with Procurement on scheduling, bidding, and acquiring equipment and services
Supporting lean manufacturing and International Trade Compliance (ITC) initiatives
Contributing to enterprise-level initiatives like Digital Transformation and 1LM

Familiarity with lean principles, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
Excellent communication and leadership skills

Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS degree with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience or a Master's Degree with 3+ years professional experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in an industrial setting
Proven track record of successfully managing projects from procurement to installation
Strong knowledge of project management principles, practices
Proven experience in computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and AutoCAD, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience.
Experience in leading a team, as well as the proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
U.S Citizenship Required
Desired Skills:
Construction Management degree preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders with the ability to present to internal and external customers within LM.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with management, employees and customers, and interface with various departments.
Possess strong adaptability skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Willing to work in a creative, fast-paced atmosphere and as a team player.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
