This position is for an entry level Design Associate Engineer in the Sikorsky Aircraft Design Group. We design, develop and support elegant and safe aircraft solutions that exceed customer expectations for mission success.

We are seeking a talented and motivated entry level Design Engineer to join the Transmission System Production team. The ideal candidate will work in all aspects of transmission system design, from conceptual trade studies thru fabrication test, and customer use.

Responsibilities for this position include:
• Work under supervision to complete simple drawing layouts in 2-D and 3-D modeling for complex machined dynamic components
• Create detail and assembly drawings using precision machine design tolerance stack-ups
• Interact with Senior Design Engineers, Material and Process Engineers, Suppliers, and Test Engineers to complete drawing releases
• Coordination with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams
• Design transmission component solutions for fielded aircraft, test aircraft and production assembly of aircraft.

The job may include minimal travel for on-site support at suppliers or plants installing transmission components.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a talented high energy team responsible for the current and next generation of vertical lift aircraft.

This position is based in our Stratford/ Shelton, Connecticut facility, with close ties to other transmission system designers across multiple geographic locations. Similar positions are available in our Fort Worth Technical Center and candidates are encouraged to apply to the location of choice.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Engineering (or equivalent)
Desired Skills:
Experience with CAD 3D modeling, drafting, and GD&T practices. Good verbal communication and technical writing skills. Ability to interpret requirements, bills of material, and engineering drawings.
