Sr. Program Manager- Mission Systems and Avionics

Description:The CMHP Mission Systems and Avionics Senior Program Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of the Integrated Mission System, Avionics, and Flight Controls sub-systems for the CH-148 Canadian Maritime Helicopter. The CH-148 is a military version of the Sikorsky S-92 helicopter capable of performing a full range of Search and Rescue (SAR), utility missions, anti-surface warfare, and anti-submarine warfare. Responsibilities include overall program management of the design and development effort for Block 2 and its closure; executing Capability Release 2.1 development and deployment; and supporting (or engaging with or ensuring successful) In Service Support. In addition, driving and executing future growth initiatives and capabilities is an important part of the role as three complex and significant scope new capabilities, along with numerous smaller projects, are planned. This includes responsibility for managing Assistant Program Managers (APM) as well as working with the Operations, Engineering, Contracts, and Finance teams to ensure successful execution to the contract, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and financial plan. In addition, the role will include overall supplier management responsibility for General Dynamics Mission Systems - Canada (Integrated Mission System), UTAS (Integrated Vehicle Health Monitoring System), BAE (Flight Control Computer), Rockwell Collins (Avionic Management System), and Canadian Marconi Corporation (Flight Management Control Display Unit). Additional responsibilities include developing and managing schedules, cost performance management, supply chain / sub-contract management, program risk management, managing staff, and communicating program goals to the cross-functional team. Engaging in future business growth and future technology integration planning are also aspects of the position. The individual will have responsibility for executive-level briefings, new business development, and customer satisfaction. Strong organizational skills are required to effectively lead program reviews with major suppliers, support internal and customer program reviews, conduct team meetings, and lead various other business rhythm initiatives. Position will require periodic travel to Canada. An active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical discipline is required and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
-Minimum of 15 years of experience in aerospace industry with at least 7 years in project management, engineering management, or program management is a must.
-Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
-Highly motivated, flexible individual that is customer and results focused.
-Ability to manage competing priorities with a high level of engagement is critical to success.
-Must be able to lead within a matrix organization to achieve business goals and deliver on customer commitments.
-Must possess a strong level of technical understanding and demonstrated mastery of project management tools.
-Proven capability of effectively leading diverse teams is required.
-Demonstrated experience developing future technology road maps, capturing new business, and formulating integration strategies
-Proficiency in Earned Value Management
Desired Skills:
-Familiarity with Primavera scheduling toolset
-Proficiency with Insight Earned Value Management application
-Strong grasp of Microsoft PowerPoint and familiarity with Microsoft Project
