Description:Senior Systems Engineers perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

In this role, the engineer is part of the 53K Heavy Lift Navigation IPT. Role includes ‘ownership’ of one or more navigation subsystems. Tasks include monitoring/tracking of integration issues, development of resolution plans for these issues, and implementation of those plans. Includes coordinating with the Avionics lab and aircraft test teams, and the Heavy List Customer and the Customer’s suppliers. Some time will be spent in the Avionics lab supporting new software build integration, resolving issues and formal testing.
Support of proposals is also required. Developing Statements of Work (SOWs), Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and specifications/documentation required to obtain supplier quotes. Participation in internal meetings and meetings/negotiations with the Customer are also part of this role.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with one or more Navigation subsystems in the areas of supplier management, requirements development, or integration and test.
Desired Skills:
Experience with DOORS requirements management. Experience with Customers with regard to negotiations, issue resolution, and formal test development.
