Your Mission:
The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a high energy AI/ML Hardware Engineer to support enterprise Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence systems. In this role, you will be embedded in the AI Factory team working alongside data engineers, AI/ML engineers, product managers, and data scientists. The selected candidate will focus on delivery of AI/ML hardware, edge infrastructure, development equipment, rapid prototyping, and computing systems. Additionally, they will contribute to a broad range of projects across the enterprise to increase machine learning availability and value to Lockheed Martin.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain complex computing environments designed to train, deploy, and operate artificial intelligence systems
• Implement and evaluate novel AI/ML hardware and architectures
• Develop edge application platforms and fleet management
• Work closely with other AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and data engineers to develop hardware solutions
• Work closely with facilities, central IT, cybersecurity, and network teams to secure edge platforms
• Work with the vendors to advocate for Lockheed Martin's needs for AI/ML platforms
• Ensure that user and technical issues are promptly prioritized and resolved
• Assist teams in identifying edge platforms to meet their program needs
• Stay up-to-date with emerging AI technologies and trends, applying this knowledge to improve AI Factory toolsets and systems

• Experience in installing, operating, and maintaining hardware environments, including Servers, Networking, Storage, and Small Board Computers
• Experience in deploying and developing on Low-SWaP (size, weight, and power) systems
• Familiarity with diverse IT principles, including Networking, Storage, Computing, Security, and Distributed Services
• Familiarity with Programming and Scripting, such as Python, Go, Bash

• Familiarity of development labs, including server hardware, networking, and security
• Knowledge of AI/ML relevant hardware, such as GPUs, FPGAs, IoT devices, and Small Board Computers
• Familiarity with basic electronics and assembly
• Familiarity with Infrastructure Automation, such as Ansible or Terraform
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Familiarity with OCI runtimes, such as containerd, CRI-O, and Docker
• Familiarity with Collaboration Tools, such as Slack, Confluence, and Gitlab
• Knowledge of Machine Learning Architectures, including GPU Computing, High Performance Computing (HPC), and Distributed Training

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
