Lockheed Martin's is seeking a motivated data analyst to support the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT) in support of developing tools and analysis of missile tracking and models. This individual will be a part of a focused technical team verifying and validating metrics, statistics and descriptive analysis of actual and hypothetical test data from Missile Defense Systems in development in support of national security.

The candidate will perform research and analysis to identify meaningful metrics, patterns and trends from the test datasets, and use statistical methods to validate or reject hypotheses about the data. Techniques may include visualization, simulation, message-based analysis and system modeling to achieve the desired analysis results. The candidate should understand the math and statistics behind the models and be able to interpret, extrapolate and deliver actionable recommendations. The candidate should possess technical skills to develop software tools and models to evaluate software, algorithms and processes used to build the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) element of the Missile Defense System (MDS). The candidate should be able to assist test tool analysts with technical troubleshooting and analysis of test traceability and analysis tools. In this position, you will be collaborating/coordinating with peers across the program to develop solutions to technical problems and provide actionable insights to C2BMC decision makers.

Candidate is expected to travel as needed (less than 5%).
Majority of work will be conducted at Schriever AFB due to access to test data.
Intermittently some non-standard work hours are possible.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience in the use of software test and analysis tools for message-based systems
• Experience with Object oriented software; e.g. Python and/or Java
• Experience with the Linux environment
• Security+ certification (can start without but must obtain in 60 days)
Desired Skills:
It is highly desirable that the candidate have experience with MDS elements or components, to include operational systems (e.g., Aegis, Patriot, GMD, THAAD, SBX, Aegis) in either a test or operational environment;
Desired skills:
• Experience in the use of COTS modeling, simulation and analysis tools
• Python programming experience.
• Bash or similar scripting experience.
• Strong sense of how data ‘tells a story”
• Experience with using and maintaining relational databases
• Analysis tools (e.g., Perl, MATLAB)
• Causal analysis experience
• Use of spreadsheets for data analysis and associated tools
• Experience in manipulation of large data sets
• Development of software test and analysis tools
• Understanding data management strategies
• Development and automation of data management processes and tools
• Experience in designing/testing software from a systems engineering perspective.
• Strong teamwork skills
