Network Engineer

Description: Candidate will be responsible for providing Tier II Network support of the C2BMC related infrastructure.
- Installs, configures and troubleshoots Cisco WAN/LAN hardware and software to include switches, routers and firewalls.
- Ensures new network connections are viable, and validates new configurations will not impact current configurations by providing input and recommendations on network connectivity.
- Authors System Modification Requests (SMR's), Isolation Procedure, Network (IPN), and test plan documents and/or procedures.
- Plan and implement the deployment and repair of network devices, communication paths and review capacity performance.
- Review and comment on SMR's, network projects, requirements, and anomalies.
- Devise plans and conduct analysis and testing to isolate system anomalies.
- Provide network management oversight and monitoring of C2BMC networks.
Desired Skills: • Experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (such as Wireshark)
• Working Knowledge of DoD authentication & encryption methods/capabilities (TACLANE's, TACACS+, RADIUS, Active Directory, GEM-X).
• Experience with Network Management Systems, such as NNMI.
• Working knowledge of Tactical Data Links, J/K series messages.
• Self-starting problem solver with the ability to work with military and civilian personnel in a potential high stress situation.
• Previous experience maintaining C2BMC systems.
Basic Qualifications: • Candidate must meet minimum requirements of DOD 8570 IAT II certification (Security +, etc).
• Experience in Network Engineering or Administration.
• Experience with (UNIX, Linux, Windows, Cisco and or Juniper OS's).
• Experience with operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems/networking environments.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance on hardware and software components.
• Experience in installation of hardware, software and information assurance patches.
