Our facility in Santa Cruz, CA has an immediate opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join our mission. Virtually every Lockheed Martin Space (LMS) mission success starts with a strong foundation of facility infrastructure, which is built and operated risk free in support of business needs, without interruption. Reporting to the Remote Site Lead Facilities Manager, as the Facilities Manager for the Santa Cruz site, you’ll have the opportunity to use your facilities maintenance and construction experience and education to take on formidable challenges while becoming an integral part of our team to produce cutting edge space systems. This role will require that you be able to travel between the Bay Area Sites: Sunnyvale and Palo Alto sites throughout the work week as necessary.

Summary of key duties for this position:

• You will serve as the Site Lead for Lockheed Martin Space Facilities Operations & Services (F&OS) in Santa Cruz, CA.

• You will manage a diverse team while maintaining multi-operational activities within the Santa Cruz Facility, a 4000-acre site

• You will recruit and supervise an engineering staff as well as represented employees

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with proven track record of at least 4 years of leadership experience in production, engineering, test, facilities or other high demand work environments

• Demonstrated working knowledge of HVAC systems, high voltage infrastructure, ordnance storage/handing requirements, roads, grounds, and/or defensible space management

• Direct working knowledge of all trades including electrical, carpentry, custodial, painting, HVAC systems including chillers, humidifiers, air filtration, steam systems, water and air systems, piping system design and construction related activity

• Demonstrated skills in management and oversight of contractors, diverse work force and team members on specific contracts, projects, and day to day activities

• Experience leading a team of technical trade personnel and salaried staff

• Must be a United States citizen and be able to successfully acquire DOD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Strong leadership skills including transparent communication and ability to engage employees and handle conflict

• High degree of ethics, strong core values and an optimistic outlook, strong leadership, teamwork, and customer relations skills

• Candidate must possess the ability to operate/manage/work effectively with minimal guidance

• Experience with application of predictive maintenance tools

• Possess a technical trade background or working experience including hand-on experience with a wide variety of industrial infrastructure systems

• Knowledge of Construction/Design standards as related to reliability/maintainability requirements

• Ability to write clear, concise, detailed descriptive evaluation reports of facility conditions

• Six Sigma Certification or equivalent

• Root Cause Failure Analysis training and experience

• Proven leadership in a Collective Bargaining Agreement environment with ability to apply the agreement’s principles to daily operations.

• Proven track record of risk reduction opportunities to personnel, operations and infrastructure

• Experience with the development and writing of statement of works and long-term service contracts for Facilities Operations & Services (FO&S)
