Description:Become part of the future of innovation at Lockheed Martin as a Full Stack Engineer (FSE) on the Storage Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Product Team. The Storage IaaS Product Team is part of the Fully Optimized and Resilient Cloud Environment (FORCE) Portfolio within the Enterprise IT Infrastructure and International (I2) Organization. This dynamic, fast-paced environment embraces DevSecOps and AI (Artificial Intelligence) within Scrum Delivery Teams to enable our strategic goals. The FSE role is crucial to the success of reinventing how we develop and maintain Storage IaaS Products at Lockheed Martin. As a team member on a single Delivery Team within the Storage IaaS Product Team, you will play a key role in driving innovation and growth. The FSE's primary responsibilities include developing automated solutions and products to support the configuration, management, and monitoring of the Storage IaaS environment, as well as performing timely incident and problem management. These solutions are designed to meet global needs for all Lockheed Martin Business Areas, including primary Data Centers, local on-premises Edge locations, and public cloud. This support is provided in accordance with corporate policy, company policy, and industry best practices. Key responsibilities of this position include:

Coordinating with other Enterprise Business & Digital Transformation (EBDT) teams on enterprise projects as the Storage team representative
Scheduling and coordinating on-call support for the Storage team, including participating in the on-call schedule on a rotational basis with other team members
Executing root cause analysis for complex problem resolution
Ensuring all storage device builds are completed using standard engineering processes and standard operating instructions, with some customization based on the environment
Ensuring documentation of standard operating instructions for storage environments and processes is completed
Installing storage-related software applications
Providing storage audit support, including preparation, response, break/fix, and troubleshooting for non-routine tier 1 & 2 problems and complex tier 3 & 4 problems.
Testing Disaster Recovery Plans for Business Continuity
Mentoring less experienced storage administrators
Working flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and off-shifts, to support mission requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Operations
The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of:
- Core AWS services and hybrid cloud platforms
- Networking, storage, and compute technologies
- The process for delivering services, including incident management, change management, and other related disciplines
- Common infrastructure operations and maintenance tasks, such as patching, endpoint security, and logging
- Storage technologies, including NetApp, EMC, and Object Storage

Development
The candidate should be familiar with:
- The Scrum/Agile Framework and its application in software development
- Modern integrated development environments (IDEs), tools, and languages, including .NET Core, Ansible, Python, Perl, Angular, and Node
- Developing application interfaces, translations, and transformations
- The CI/CD Pipeline, including staging, building, testing, and deploying
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and their application in software development

Process/Practice
The candidate should have a basic understanding of:
- Software development methodologies and their application in real-world scenarios
- Tools and capabilities that support software development, including version control systems and project management tools

Infrastructure as Code and Cloud
The candidate should be familiar with:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and their application in cloud environments, including AWS CloudFormation (CFT) and YAML
- Ansible Core and Ansible Tower
- Git and GitLab, including their use in version control and collaboration

User Experience
The candidate should have entry-level knowledge of User Experience (UX) concepts, including user-centered design and usability principles.

Security
The candidate should have entry-level knowledge of security principles and practices, including data protection, access control, and threat mitigation.

Ownership
The candidate should be able to fully own assigned tasks and be responsible for all aspects of the task, from requirements to operations.

Infrastructure
The candidate should have a basic understanding of the core infrastructure stack, including compute, network, and storage components. They should also be familiar with server administration roles and responsibilities, including system configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Desired Skills:
Operations
- Production operational experience with technology stacks in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with multiple platforms, including AWS, OpenStack, PCF, and others
- Cloud-based application architecture experience
- Managing networking, storage, and compute resources using Infrastructure as Code
- Familiarity with IT service delivery processes, including incident management, change management, and others
- Familiarity with IT and development technologies

Development
- Basic knowledge of modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), tools, and languages, such as .NET Core, Spring, Ansible, Python, Angular, and Node.js
- Familiarity with containerization techniques and technologies
- Understanding of the Scrum/Agile framework

Process/Practice
- Basic knowledge of software development methodologies
- Experience driving towards Minimal Viable Products (MVPs) and iterative development

Applying CI/CD Concepts
- Basic knowledge of application health monitoring practices
- Basic knowledge of capabilities related to security, build, test, and deployment, including tools like Jenkins and GitLab

User Experience
- Applying User Experience (UX) concepts in application design
- Driving towards open API standards
- Experience with Design Thinking and Structured User Interviews

Ownership
- Fully owns assigned subsystems and is responsible for all aspects of the subsystem, from idea to operations
- Responsible for enabling and coaching junior engineers on the implementation of their tasks

Infrastructure
- Core infrastructure stack, including compute, network, storage, and others
- Server administration roles and responsibilities
- Modern application designs and running on infrastructure platforms, such as OpenStack, OpenShift, and PCF

Other
- Familiarity with DevOps and DevSecOps practices
- Experience mitigating IT technical debt and retiring legacy products and services
- Awareness of utilizing metrics to make data-driven decisions
- Experience creating or contributing to product roadmaps
- Conducting user interviews and/or customer surveys
- Familiarity with ServiceNow for IT Service Management (ITSM)
- Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure IT service development and maintenance
- Familiarity with private cloud on-premise IT service development and maintenance
- Ability to work flexibly in a virtual environment

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $84,300 - $146,165. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $76,500 - $134,895. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
