Research Science Engineering Intern

What is your mission?
You will support the Security area focused on Domain Awareness. You will perform analysis of data from multiple ground-based sensors to improve knowledge of -based objects. This will include astrometric and photometric analysis of observed objects. Machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms will be applied to object datasets.

This position is for internships in Sunnyvale and Palo Alto California.
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related discipline.

This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
Strong background in math, science, and/or engineering. Basic understanding of physical systems and models of physical phenomenon. Ability to conduct research and development in both laboratory and field environments. Proficiency in scientific analysis software, e.g. MATLAB, Python, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Desired but not required:
The ability to create software algorithms from physical descriptions of phenomena. Basic understanding of mathematical modeling of physical systems. Basic appreciation of signal processing of Electro-Optical and Infrared (EOIR) signals/images. Appreciation of radiometry, physics of EOIR observables, analytical/numerical solutions of complex systems of equations, basic EOIR sensor performance.
