Software Engineer - Skunk Works - Level 3
Description:Become a Skunk and define the future by developing disruptive solutions that combine autonomy, stealth technology, open systems architectures, and manned/unmanned teaming capabilities to solve the most critical national security challenges today. Push the boundaries of what’s possible to quickly design, develop and test innovative solutions that provide lifesaving intelligence for the warfighter. At Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, nothing is impossible. Our scientists and engineers tackle some of the world’s hardest problems every day to pioneer radical approaches to groundbreaking advanced technology concepts.
As a senior software engineer, you will contribute to the full development lifecycle, including requirements generation, software design, implementation, integration, and flight test. You'll develop next generation cockpit software and avionics services, to include ground station development as well as mission systems software technologies. Participate in end-to-end integration activities including a multitude of host systems, such as live assets of varying capability and structure, simulated systems, and laboratory environments with constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations.
***Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance with Background Investigation date less than 6 years to be considered.***

This position is in Palmdale, CA Discover Palmdale.
• Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college in a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience with programming software languages such as C, C++, Java, C# or a related language
***Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance to be considered.***
• Agile methodologies / working in an Agile development team
• Both Windows and Linux development environments
• Development of real-time systems or use of real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Embedded systems software development
• Developing software for air vehicle systems
• Worked or developed models and simulations for hw
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab, Jira, and other SW collaboration tools
• Integration and Test in hardware and software environments
• Experience with Python, Cmake, Shell scripting languages
• Ability to travel as needed
• Experience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Top Secret with an investigation within 6 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $98,800 - $186,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
