Safety Engineer Senior

Description:Position will serve as ESH subject matter expert related to multiple chemical management compliance programs including:
• OSHA/CAL OSHA Hazard Communication
• Chemical Hygiene Plans
• California Prop 65
• Flammable/Combustible Materials
• HazMat Storage
• SDS Authoring
• TSCA

Position will be responsible for representing ESH programs working with other functional and program organizations.

Interprets, recommends, and complies with environmental, health and safety (ESH) regulations and/or company policies.

Assists in planning for changes in physical facilities and processes to meet new environmental requirements.

Assesses aerospace programs to identify and mitigate ESH hazards and impacts.

Writes and updates environmental and safety manuals and procedures.

Prepares permits, reports and evaluations. Interacts with regulators and industry groups.

Performs administrative duties (e.g., paying fees) to support environmental and safety program implementation.

Some periodic travel required and work on off-shifts may be required.

MUST BE A US CITIZEN - This position is located in a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience managing Environmental, Health & Safety Regulatory Compliance Programs.

Background in chemistry or chemical engineering
Desired Skills:
Safety or Environmental Certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Material Manager)

Ability to manage multiple programs and work in a fast-paced environment

Proven experience leading projects and resolving complex problems

DOT HazMat Transportation Regulations

Working knowledge of Hazardous Materials Management Programs (HMMP)/Mil-Std-882E/NAS 411

Training Curriculum Development

Familiarity with safety aspects related to 3D printing and nanomaterials

Solid skills in Microsoft Office and other IT tools

Excellent communicator, problem solver and team player
