Description:This position is with Lockheed Martin’s historic Advanced Development Programs (ADP), or “Skunk Works,” located in Palmdale, California. Known for some of the most advance and groundbreaking aircraft ever produced, we continue to push the bounds of technology today. This opportunity is with the ADP Model Based Systems Engineering team, providing support across the entire product line including both new and existing programs.

The selected candidate will provide systems engineering support for tasks such as requirements development and tracking, risk management, and architecture development to an ADP program they are assigned to. They will participate in Skunk Work’s Digital Transformation efforts by implementing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) throughout the Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle (SE-V). This person will work with other senior engineers to understand overall program engineering strategy and guide junior engineers in their task.

The candidate will have extensive experience across the spectrum of systems engineering activities. They will generate, decompose, track and verify requirements, perform risk assessments, lead trade studies, perform technical planning, perform requirements verification and develop systems architecture. They will work across multiple engineering disciplines to engage suppliers and industry experts to ensure all aspects of the project are represented with appropriate requirements. The candidate will have experience authoring and managing Statements of Work (SOWs) and Engineering Requirements Documents (ERDs) for Subcontracts and Vendors. The candidate will provide systems integration and test support and work closely with program management to assure complete program integrity.
The ideal veteran in systems engineer for this role aspires to be a technical leader, has a practical understanding of Earned Value Measurement Systems (EVMS), and is prepared to run portions of the MBSE effort by thinking creatively and operating independently.

Must be a US Citizen, Top Secret and special access clearances required.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or above in a Technical Discipline.
Experience leading systems engineering process and activities.
Experience with requirements generation and decomposition.
Experience with tracking requirements using the DOORS database tool.
Must have a Top Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
Ability to work with different engineering disciplines to derive and decompose requirements.
Experience developing system architectures (or with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF/UAF modeling standards)).
Good written and verbal communication with experience in writing requirements.
Work experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and Operational modeling tools.
Integration and Test experience.
Control Account Manager (CAM) experience.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Top Secret

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $115,500 - $217,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
