Material & Process Engineer Senior

Description:Apply Composite Material Engineering Principles to enable manufacturing (and/or research and development) of composite parts including fiber reinforced organic matrix materials, high temperature organic/inorganic composites, and associated fabrication processes. Materials and Process (M&P) tasks include: 1) interface with supplier vendor base technical issues concerning (raw composite materials, parts fabrication, new materials/processes, and/or review of manufacturing plans; 2) Develop and implement composite research/qualification plans; 3) material characterization, process development, proper selection of materials and processes to ensure attainment of design objectives; 4) participate in non-conformance disposition and Corrective Action processes; 5) participate in structural lay-outs and design reviews; and/or 6) author/maintain/updating composite specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
Engineering or other technical (STEM) bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent certifications and experience.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and ability to obtain a clearance.

Minimum 2 years’ experience working with composite materials, processes, fabrication/manufacturing methods, test, and inspection processes.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desired Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of composite materials, processes, fabrication and manufacturing methods, test and inspection processes.
Education or training in statistical analysis and polymer composite processing.
Experience with material characterization techniques and process development.
Experience creating and revising material and process specifications, reports, and test plans.
Experience reading and interpreting drawings and/or schematics.
Strong verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills.
Experience preparing and delivering technical presentations.
Project management skills.
