Material and Process Engineer Senior

Description:Do you want to help shape the future? The Revolutionary Technology Programs (RTP) organization of Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works is soliciting exceptionally qualified candidates to support cutting edge research in the area of novel electromagnetically responsive surfaces. The successful candidate lead tasks to tackle critical R&D challenges as part of an interdisciplinary team and should possess a strong understanding in the following areas: nano/micro self-assembly techniques, and thin film deposition and characterization. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team of other scientists and engineers is critical. Creativity and blue-sky thinking are highly encouraged to solve complex challenges in a fast-paced and exciting environment.

**Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.**
Basic Qualifications:
• Recent Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or a related technical discipline

• Experience with self-assembly techniques

• Hands-on laboratory experience with optical, x-ray, or infrared characterization of thin films

• Experience with Matlab or Labview
Desired Skills:
• Experience with HFSS, COMSOL, CST, or similar electromagnetic simulation software
• Hands-on laboratory experience with one or more thin film deposition techniques such as spin-coating, doctor-blading, and flow-coating
• Experience with nano/micro lithography techniques such as nano-imprint, optical lithography, or colloidal lithography
• Experience with thin film and nano/microstructure characterization techniques
• Experience with metamaterial design
• Experience with 3D printing
• Familiarity with RF measurements
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Recent PhD in physics, chemistry, or a related technical discipline
