Description:This classification requires on the job training and performance of diverse assignments related to Flight Safety Survival Equipment Technician activities for the purpose of acquiring training and experience to satisfactorily perform the distinguishing requirements of the classification. Must possess licenses or certifications as required. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of, or have successfully completed training in the following job skills: Basic Computer Operations and must have experience working to and express thorough understanding of Air Force Technical Orders or similar technical operating manuals.

To be successful for the promotion to the Flight Safety Survival Equipment Technician (RP6413) an employee must obtain an FAA Parachute Rigger’s License and provide to the Company verification of current status prior to consideration for promotion. An employee shall not be held in this classification for a period longer than three (3) years. It is the intent to use this classification for the purpose of training employee having limited experience in the above-mentioned classification.

PERFORMS SUCH RELATED DUTIES AS: Maintaining and inspecting emergency aircrew recovery systems including, but not limited to: Parachutes, Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE), Physiological Support Detachment (PSD), and Egress.

NOTE: To be successful for promotion to Flight Safety and Survival Technician (RP6413), an employee must acquire/possess a Senior Parachute Rigger's Certificate and complete 3 years of on-the-job training; however, the employee may be eligible for upgrade after 2 years if the Company determines they are qualified. It is the intent to use this classification for the purpose of training employees having limited experience in the above-mentioned classification.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a related military discipline (AFE, PSD, Egress)
- 3+ years of experience with flightline operations
- 1+ year of experience with inspection/time change management
- Must be able to work odd shifts on occasion
- Final Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
- U-2 PSD experience
- Parachute Rigger's Certificate
- Explosives handling
