The MV-75 Program plays a critical role in delivering advanced mission systems to support our nation’s defense and intelligence communities. The work being done in Owego, NY directly supports the design, development, integration, and sustainment of cutting-edge avionics and mission systems technology. Our engineers enable platforms to perform with precision, reliability, and resilience in the most demanding operational environments.

We are hiring multi-level Software and Systems Engineers in Owego, New York!! Some of these exciting roles include:

Systems Engineer
Software Engineer
Software Developer
Integration & Test Engineer

An ACTIVE U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance is required for all roles.

The Work

As part of the MV-75 Program, you will be responsible for:
Designing, developing, and testing software solutions in support of mission-critical systems.

Performing systems analysis and requirements development to ensure mission needs are met.

Integrating software and hardware components to achieve robust, reliable mission performance.

Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and validate system functionality.

Applying Agile and model-based systems engineering methodologies to modernize and advance our mission system capabilities.

Your work will directly contribute to ensuring that the systems we deliver perform when it matters most.


Please note: These roles are based out of Owego, NY.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.

A driven engineer with experience or education in software or systems engineering.

Proficient in one or more of the following: C++, Java, Python, or similar programming languages.

Comfortable working with requirements, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of complex systems.

Ability to obtain and maintain or currently holding an ACTIVE U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
-BS Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent STEM computing field with 2 years related professional experience

-Experience using C, C++ or similar programming languages

-Experience with full software life-cycle development, processes and tools

-Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance at the Secret level.
Desired Skills:
Experience in one or more of the following is desired:

•Experience with graphical software development

•Experience with software development methodologies and software configuration management

•Experience with automated test development

•Experience with Git/GitLab, Visual Studio, or Atlassian products

•Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS)

• Experience with cockpit, integrated avionics and mission system architectures, avionics, and sensor subsystems.

• Experience with FACE technical standards for reusable software.

• Experience with software product line development for reusable software.

• Experience with development of software requirements and working collaboratively with software engineers in the design, development, and test of software.

• Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) – Preferably CAMEO.

• Experience with Command-line and shell scripting proficiency, Git version control and Docker Containers, and Wireshark.

• Experience building strong customer relationships.

• Strong communication skills, able to translate technical strategies and challenges into verbal and visual presentations to be shared with senior management and senior customers contacts.

• Proficiency in Real Time Operating Systems like VxWorks.

• Experience with the design, integration and test of avionics systems and software operational programs.

• Knowledge of system design, requirements definition, and documentation

• Knowledge of system verification/test documentation and conduct

• Experience working on cross-functional teams (Hardware, Software, Integration/Test)

• Programming skills in languages such as C, C++ or Python

• Experience with Real Time Operating Systems

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,400 - $129,260. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $84,300 - $146,165.
