THE WORK
Specific responsibilities include:
• Lead R&M projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget to deliver on-time, on budget solutions that meet customer reliability requirements.
• Develop and execute reliability and maintainability (R&M) analyses for avionic aerospace systems, ensuring compliance with MIL STD 1629A and MIL STD 217.
• Define and implement Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality (FMECA) studies, generating actionable mitigation plans for avionics systems
• Conduct reliability growth testing, statistical analysis, and life data modeling to predict system performance over its operational lifecycle.
• Implementing Failure Reporting And Corrective Actions Systems (FRACAS) process and interpreting statistical data derived from failure data to determine root cause and corrective actions to eliminate failure modes
• Lead root cause investigations of field failures, coordinating cross functional teams to develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Establish and maintain maintainability metrics (MTTR, logistic support analysis) to optimize support concepts and reduce downtime.
• Influencing the complete life cycle; CONOPs, design, development, verification test, and sustainment based on program requirements by resolving R&M technical issues using analysis, data, industry practices, and academic research
• Produce reliability/maintainability documentation, including reliability data packages, technical reports, and compliance records for government customers.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure R&M requirements are embedded in contracts and supplier deliverables.
• Utilize reliability software tools (Windchill Risk and Reliability (WRR) and ReliaSoft))
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of high reliability and maintainable design across the organization.
• Performing trade studies to optimize R&M performance, and life cycle cost
• Allocating and documenting R&M requirements

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Industrial, Systems, Aerospace, or a related STEM field (Master’s preferred).
•  ≥ 5 years of experience applying reliability and maintainability principles to aerospace or defense systems.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Proficiency with reliability analysis methods (FMECA, Weibull, MTBF/MTTR calculations) and related software tools (Windchill Risk and Reliability (WRR) and ReliaSoft))
• Strong understanding of MIL STD 1629A, MIL STD 217, and other DoD reliability/maintainability standards.
• Familiar with R&M test including Environmental Stress Screen (ESS), Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT), Initial Built in Test (BIT), Life testing, etc.
• Demonstrated project leadership experience, including responsibility for schedule, cost, and resource management.
• Excellent problem solving skills with a track record of conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Effective communication skills—able to produce clear technical reports and present findings to senior leadership and customers.
• Experience working in cross functional teams and coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and government stakeholders.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $102,800 - $178,135. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
