Description:This position is for an System Engineer (SE) to support the Multi-function Training Aid (MFTA) product line. MFTA devices support cockpit familiarization and procedures training, including system malfunction recognition and emergency procedures training. MFTA provides a training environment that familiarizes students with the cockpit, consoles, and panels of the aircraft.

System Engineering includes concept development and requirements analysis, hardware and software definition, and systems coordination. System Engineering considers several approaches including alternative designs, associated production feasibilities, and schedule estimates shall perform evaluation of the proposed concept. Evaluations include analyses of mission objectives and performance requirements, identification of system interaction requirements, modeling for performance prediction and systems effectiveness, and performance of trade off studies and system/cost effectiveness analysis. The System Engineering function provides engineering analyses of factors affecting performance, such as environment, stress, structural dynamics, acoustics, flight dynamics, hydrodynamics or thermodynamics. Systems engineering defines hardware and software requirements necessary to satisfy system function and performance requirements as well as the specifications.

In addition the Systems Engineer is also responsible for Integration and Test (I&T) performs hardware checkout to verify that parts and assemblies are properly assembled and installed and all supporting systems, such as power or grounding systems, are installed as required by the product definition. The scope of this BOE is the effort to perform the system test using the acceptance test procedures to verify the product baseline. The I&T Engineer is responsible for ATP updates and inputs to the test plan and Pre Modification Inspections (PMI). The I&T engineer is the on-site Lockheed Martin representative and primary point of contact between the Customer and Lockheed Martin during the Onsite Deployment.

Startup Tasks:
1.Review all the requirements and ensure that they are flowed to the responsible stakeholder(s).

Baseline Program Tasks:
1.Provide inputs to Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) based on customer and stakeholder(s) inputs
2.Manage and track Performance Measures
3.Manage, input and link all the requirements in Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
4.Develop the Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM)
5.Determine Technical Risks and Mitigation and Control Plans
6.Assess and provide risks to be managed and tracked
7.Assist the subcontract management organization in establishing the technical baseline
8.Support Initial Design and Data Collection
9.Update all the internal program engineering documents
10.Review and assess all documents as a result of this contract award

Daily activities include:
1.Provide inputs for technical performance of engineering activities
3.Review and develop engineering work products
4.Interface with customer and suppliers regarding technical issues and status

Weekly activities include:
1.Participate in Program Integration Meetings (includes developing inputs)
2.Evaluate Risks and Update Risk Register

Monthly activities include:
1.Participate in Risk Board Meeting
2.Participate in Working Group Meetings
3.Update Documentation (e.g. Technical Data Package)
Basic Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in a system engineering, computer science, computer engineering or related engineering discipline
• 2+ years with the development life cycle as a systems engineer or no experience with a related Masters degree
• Must function well in a creative, high-tempo, collaborative, cross-functional, dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment
• Experience in both Windows and Linux/Unix environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
• Experience with model based system engineering tools (MagicDraw/Cameo, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect)
• Experience with requirements development and breakdown, as well as requirements analysis and mapping
• Experience with developing and executing test procedures, interfacing with customers on test approach, and coordinating with pilot/SME on verification
• Experience with simulation training
• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Fisheye, Crucible, Bitbucket, Confluence)
• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with agile methodology
• General aviation/pilot experience
